First and foremost, Maje is a family business... Judith Milgrom's, to be specific. Founded in Paris in 1998, the brand excels in bold, modern, urban fashion. It wasn’t long before it opened its first boutique in Paris on the Rive Gauche in the 6th arrondissement. Today, the brand is available in 37 countries via 448 points of sale.


Over the years, Maje has designed successful collections of everything from ready-to-wear clothing to accessories. It has established itself as a leading brand in accessible luxury, thanks to fashionable creations with subtly edgy and quirky details for a decidedly feminine look that feels both understated and glamorous.

 
 
 
 

DREAM TOMORROW

Twenty years on, Maje reflects the multiple facets of a woman... and indeed all women today. The brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the mantra "Dream Tomorrow". It serves as an invitation to envision an altruistic and attentive label, one looking towards the next 20 years on the basis of being firmly rooted in the past in which it was founded, but totally free to invent its future.

LAUNCH OF THE M MINI

Two years after Maje launched its iconic M bag, the collection expanded to include the M Mini. The mini version is perfect for carrying all the nocturnal, globe-trotting Maje girl’s essentials.
Absolutely irresistible in leather and suede, the design comes complete with signature chain or removable strap for a
stylish, nonchalant feel.

MAJE EYEWEAR

Combining vintage influences and serious attention to detail, the first Maje eyewear collection was to some extent inspired by the Seventies, an era often associated with the quest for freedom.

JUDITH MILGROM, OFFICIER OF THE LÉGION D'HONNEUR

Judith Milgrom was promoted to Officier of the Légion d'Honneur in December 2017 by Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire.

OPENING OF THE REGENT STREET POP-UP STORE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WOMEN FOR WOMEN INTERNATIONAL

In 2017, Maje opened a pop-up store on London’s iconic Regent Street geared around a modern, digital concept. Maje developed various limited edition products in collaboration with the British poet Greta Bellamacina and chose to donate all proceeds to Women for Women International, an association helping women in war-torn countries.

Tasked with working together, two urban and contemporary powerhouses generated a capsule collection of original pieces.
Six basic pieces were reworked in delicate colours.
The thoroughly contemporary collaboration skilfully combined the cool and the feminine.

OPENING OF AN EXCLUSIVE POP-UP SHOP IN HONG KONG

In April 2016, Maje opened a pop-up store called "Behind the Mirror" in Hong Kong's prestigious IFC shopping centre. Maje was turned into an enormous dressing room for five days with customers invited to browse the collection through a 100% digital concept. During this interactive experience, customers could try on products virtually. Its opening party was attended by lots of Asian celebrities, including: Nicola Young, René Chu, Monica Chen, Jenny Chau, Helen Ma, Tina Leung, Faye Tsui and many others...

In 2015, Judith Milgrom decided to collaborate with accessories brand Minnetonka, renowned for its traditional craftsmanship and exoticism.
Minnetonka shares the vision of freedom and independence at the very heart of Maje.

Motivated by her desire to update the iconic K-Way and bring it back in fashion, Judith Milgrom made over the playful and classic waterproof.
The pieces reflected the designer’s desire to preserve the K-Way’s authenticity, while adapting it to Maje’s characteristic urban and contemporary style.
Maje unveiled 4 exclusive designs with a modern and feminine feel, faithful to its origins.

The "Majed by Alexa Chung" collaboration

Launching a new concept entitled "Majed by" in 2013 was a natural next step for Judith, who invited her muse to restyle looks from her Spring-Summer 2013 collection.

MAJE & ALEXA CHUNG

In 2012, Judith chose Alexa Chung as the face of her campaign. Their shared passion for fashion connected Judith Milgrom and Alexa on a deeper level. Renowned for her sophisticated style, Alexa has a gift for pulling together looks in a way that feels personal and inspiring.

MAJE IN HONG KONG

In 2012, Maje entered a new phase in its development by choosing to move into Asia. Today, the brand has 44 points of sale in 7 countries in Asian markets.

JUDITH MILGROM, FEMME EN OR

The Femmes en Or trophy is awarded to those involved in promoting women’s place in French society. Categories include cinema, media, business, the French-speaking world and style.
Judith Milgrom was selected in the Femme de Style category on 16 September 2011, succeeding Sonia Rykiel, Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno and Véronique Nichanian.
The honour coincided with Maje adding 5 points of sale in New York... its star still shining brightly.

MAJE & VANESSA TRAINA

The fashion icon became a Maje muse in 2011. Judith commissioned her to create a capsule collection of 14 pieces.
Granted the greatest freedom, Vanessa presented her personal vision of fashion in 90s-inspired pieces that were minimalist, stylish and refined.

The greatly admired collection was sold exclusively at Barneys in New York, San Francisco and Beverly Hills, as well as at Maje boutiques and concessions in France and abroad.

 
 
 
 

MAJE IN NEW YORK

In 2011, Maje crossed the Atlantic and opened in New York. Maje now has 57 points of sale in the United States.

MAJE & MUSIC: ELLE EN SCÈNE

Maje and music is a strong and well-established story. With Elle magazine’s musical label, Elle en Scène, Maje entered another new phase. One with concerts and public affection for much-loved artists like Charlie Winston, Yael Naim, M and more.

MAJE & THE MÉCÉNAT CHIRURGIE CARDIAQUE ASSOCIATION

A remarkable labour of love. One that attracted Judith Milgrom to Professor Leca’s Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association.
Admiration for a worthwhile cause: caring for children born with heart defects, wherever they come from and giving them the chance to be operated on, no matter what.

ACT 1: 27 stars including Guillaume Canet, Matthieu Chedid, Vanessa Paradis and Inès de la Fressange lent their support to the cause by creating original designs for Maje in the form of a scarf, the proceeds from which went to the association.


ACT 2: More stars including Mélanie Laurent, Thomas Dutronc and Gilles Lellouche created a jewelled scarf. All proceeds went to the association.

THE MAJE & LES PUTAFRANGES COLLABORATION AT COLETTE

Colette, the ultimate destination for fashion and the fashionable previewed the Maje and Les Putafranges collection with a store window and a dedicated stand in January 2009. A collector's T-shirt was also designed exclusively for Colette.

MAJE EN SCÈNE

Wanting to provide financial support for French music, Maje embarked on a collaboration with young artists in Paris back in 2008 and produced a CD with various folk rock-inspired songs, the proceeds from which went to the artists.

OPENING OF THE 1st MAJE BOUTIQUE IN PARIS

In 2002, Maje opened its 1st Rive Gauche boutique on Rue du Four in the 6th arrondissement.

In 1998, Judith founded Maje, a brand name inspired by members of her family: M for Moyal - Judith’s maiden name, A for Alain, her brother - the brand’s co-founder, J for Judith and E for Evelyne, her sister.
